720p or 1080p HDMI output, an SNES-style controller, or many common Bluetooth controllers.

⚡ Give a Broken GBA a New Life

The GBAHD Upcycle is designed to reuse some of the most important original components from a donor
Game Boy Advance or Game Boy Advance SP.

The original GBA CPU and RAM are transplanted onto a new circuit board, where they work together
with an FPGA-based video system to convert the image to HDMI with extremely low added latency.

Instead of relying on the original handheld display and housing, the completed system becomes a dedicated
Game Boy Advance HDMI console for your television or monitor.

Play classics such as Pokémon Blue, Metroid Fusion, The Legend of Zelda, Mario, Castlevania
and many other Game Boy and GBA titles on the big screen.

⚠ 1080p Compatibility Notice

Certain televisions and monitors may experience compatibility problems with the GBAHD’s
1080p output. If your display does not behave correctly at 1080p, use
720p mode.

▓ Image Smoothing

GBAHD includes both 2× smoothing and 4× smoothing. These are modified versions of the
Scale2x algorithm and can soften the appearance of enlarged Game Boy Advance graphics on modern displays.

Note:
Smoothing is currently disabled while using 1080p resolution.

▦ Pixel Grid Modes

The experimental pixel-grid feature can recreate some of the visual character of original Game Boy Advance screens.

Light Pixel Grid
Designed to provide an appearance similar to the Game Boy Advance SP / AGS display.

Dark Pixel Grid
Designed to provide more of the visual character associated with the original Game Boy Advance / AGB display.

Use compatible Bluetooth controllers instead of relying on the original handheld controls.
Controller buttons can be configured and remapped through the built-in GBAHD web interface.

This makes the GBAHD especially well suited for a permanent
retro gaming setup, living room console, arcade installation or game-room system.

the donor CPU, RAM, donor motherboard or GBAHD hardware. Professional installation is recommended
if you do not have advanced board-level repair experience.
